Warranty Policy
Propane Tank Marketplace stands behind the products we sell. This policy explains what warranty coverage applies to different products, what is and is not covered, and how to make a claim.
Warranty terms vary by product type and condition, so please check the product page and this policy before you buy.
New Tanks and Cylinders
New tanks and cylinders are covered by the original manufacturer’s warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
Warranty length depends on the manufacturer and the product, and is stated on the product page where available. Typical coverage is [X years] from the date of delivery.
We will help you register a valid manufacturer claim and, where the manufacturer requires it, act as your point of contact.
Refurbished and Used Tanks
Refurbished and used tanks are inspected and prepared before sale. They carry a limited warranty of [X days] from the date of delivery, covering functional defects present at the time of sale.
This limited warranty does not cover cosmetic wear, surface rust, or age related appearance, which are normal for pre owned tanks and are reflected in the price.
Any recertification or requalification status is noted on the product page.
Scrapped and As Is Tanks
Scrapped tanks and any item listed as “as is” or “final sale” are sold without any warranty.
These items are not intended or certified for holding propane and must not be filled or pressurized. They are sold for scrap, parts, or non pressurized uses only.
What the Warranty Covers
Warranty coverage, where it applies, protects against defects in materials and workmanship that were present when the product left our facility.
If a covered defect appears within the warranty period, we will arrange a repair, a replacement, or a refund, at our discretion or the manufacturer’s, depending on the product.
What the Warranty Does Not Cover
Warranty coverage does not apply to problems caused by anything other than an original defect. The following are not covered:
- Damage from improper installation, including installation not performed by a qualified or licensed professional where required
- Damage from filling, servicing, or recertification by an unlicensed party
- Damage from misuse, accident, neglect, or use that does not follow applicable codes and manufacturer instructions
- Normal wear, surface rust, fading, and cosmetic aging
- Damage from modification or from adding parts not approved for the tank
- Damage that occurs during shipping, which is handled instead under our Shipping and Delivery Policy and Returns and Refunds Policy
Your Responsibilities
Tanks must be installed, filled, and maintained in line with federal, state, and local regulations, and with manufacturer instructions.
Stationary and underground tanks generally require professional installation and, in many areas, permits and inspection. Using a licensed propane professional protects both your safety and your warranty.
Keep your order confirmation and any installation or inspection records, since these may be needed to support a claim.
How to Make a Warranty Claim
Email us at contact@propanetankmarketplace.com with your order number, a description of the problem, and photos.
We will review your claim, confirm whether it is covered, and give you next steps. For manufacturer warranties, we will guide you through the process and provide the documentation you need.
Please do not return any item before contacting us and receiving instructions.
Consumer Rights
This warranty is in addition to any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law. Nothing in this policy limits those rights.
