At Propane Tank Marketplace, we stand behind the quality of the products we sell. This Warranty Policy explains the warranty coverage available for new, refurbished, and used propane tanks and cylinders, what is covered, what is excluded, and how to submit a warranty claim.
Warranty coverage varies depending on the product type, manufacturer, and condition of the item. Please review the individual product page for any product-specific warranty information before making your purchase.
New Tanks and Cylinders
New propane tanks and cylinders may be covered by the original manufacturer’s warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
Where a manufacturer’s warranty applies, the warranty period and coverage will be specified on the applicable product page or included with the product documentation.
If a warranty claim is covered by the manufacturer, Propane Tank Marketplace will assist you with the claim process and provide any documentation reasonably required.
Refurbished and Used Tanks
Refurbished and used tanks are inspected before shipment to ensure they meet our quality standards.
Unless otherwise stated on the product page, refurbished and used tanks include a 30-day limited warranty from the date of delivery covering functional defects that existed at the time of shipment.
This limited warranty does not cover cosmetic imperfections, surface rust, paint wear, or normal signs of previous use.
Where applicable, recertification or requalification information is disclosed on the product page.
Final Sale Products
Products identified as Final Sale, As-Is, Scrap, or For Parts Only are sold without any warranty.
These products are not intended for propane storage unless specifically stated and should never be filled or pressurized unless certified for that purpose.
Warranty Coverage
Where warranty coverage applies, it covers manufacturing defects or workmanship defects that were present when the product was shipped.
If a covered defect is confirmed during the applicable warranty period, Propane Tank Marketplace may, at its discretion:
Repair the product;
Replace the product with the same or a comparable item; or
Issue an appropriate refund where repair or replacement is not practical.
Warranty Exclusions
This warranty does not cover:
Improper installation or installation performed contrary to manufacturer instructions or applicable codes.
Damage caused by misuse, abuse, neglect, accidents, or improper handling.
Damage caused by unauthorized modifications or alterations.
Damage caused by improper filling, servicing, maintenance, or recertification.
Normal wear and tear, cosmetic damage, scratches, fading, paint deterioration, or surface rust.
Damage caused by natural disasters, fire, flooding, corrosion from environmental exposure, or other external events.
Shipping damage, which is covered separately under our Shipping Policy and Returns & Refund Policy.
Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for ensuring propane tanks are installed, maintained, and operated in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Professional installation by a licensed propane technician is strongly recommended.
Customers should retain:
Order confirmation
Purchase receipt
Installation records
Inspection documentation
These records may be requested when evaluating a warranty claim.
